can't change the users' password in NIS server

Hi

I am running NIS server in HP-UX 11.00.
I have root privileges. but I cann't change the users password. the following error message is comming.

root@lgapps:/root > passwd ze4egi
Changing password for ze4egi on NIS server
Old NIS password:

It asks for old password of user. But i dont know.

So how to change the password of a user with out knowing the old password.

pls explain me.

remove password strings from password file and save it and then run your nis script ypmake
i.e /var/yp/ypmake


and then try to change password.

here in below example 76/Hq.OjDKN7U should remove if i want to change password and i dont have old password for abcd NIS user.
