Can't create new cluster !
Begin checking the nodes...
Looking for other clusters ... Done
Error: Node oraqty1a is refusing Serviceguard communication.
Please make sure that the proper security access is configured on node
oraqty1a through either file-based access (pre-A.11.16 version) or role-based
access (version A.11.16 or higher) and/or that the host name lookup
on node oraqty1a resolves the IP address correctly.
Failed to gather configuration information.
oraqty1a:/#ps -ef|grep cm
root 1278 1 0 09:43:31 ? 0:00 /usr/lbin/cmsnmpd
root 7478 3342 0 12:24:31 pts/ta 0:00 grep cm
It must be something stupid, but I can't find why.

Re: Can't create new cluster !
You have to either use .rhosts or cmclnodlist file to give access.

Re: Can't create new cluster !
Have Tried this :
#cmquerycl -w local -n oraqty1a -n oraqty1b -C /etc/cmcluster/oracluqty1.config -v
Also have confirmed that your user, group, cmclnodelist(or hosts) etc..,
configurations are proper

Re: Can't create new cluster !
Have you set up hte .rhosts or cmclnodelist files on ALL nodes, and included ALL nodes in the cluster?
Also check that nslookup oraqty1a comes back with the correct ip address, and vice versa

Re: Can't create new cluster !
This is weird, because I used to create a cluster at another site just using .rhosts.

Re: Can't create new cluster !
Using /etc/hosts on: oraqty1a
looking up FILES
Name: oraqty1a.central.fluxys.int
Address: 172.22.5.42
Aliases: oraqty1a
Changed /etc/hosts so that oraqty1a is before oraqty1a.central.fluxys.int, but problem persists.

Re: Can't create new cluster !
Just to be sure : should there any Serviceguard daemons being running ? When I execute /sbin/init.d/cmcluster start, it gives me the following error in syslog.log :
CM-CMD[8039]: Request from root on node oraqty1a to start the cluster on this node failed: not authorized.
And what should the permission be on /etc/cmcluster ?
oraqty1a:/etc/cmcluster#ls -ld /etc/cmcluster
dr-xr-xr-x 4 bin bin 96 Sep 17 13:00 /etc/cmcluster

Re: Can't create new cluster !
very sorry still you are in problem but,
have you read this release notes.
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B3935-90075/B3935-90075.html
It says something about ACL's instead of cmclnodelist &
also talks about some ports
If you have not already read this i will
advise you read it as it will not take much time.
