Re: can't get on internet.

Michael,
Looks like some service is not enabled. Can we have the complete error that you see when you try to get on the internet as suggested by Sanjiv

Thanks

Re: can't get on internet.

Gotta have a little more detail here...

What OS/platform? IE? Netscape?

If this is windows, you should try the MS forum, if HPUX I would try rpcbind -w as a start, but that's a blind guess.
A little knowledge is dangerous - none is absolutely terrifying!!!

Re: can't get on internet.

The rpc message is a networking issue, no doubt. Probably something to do with NFS.

The core of the problem is in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf

It could be a stray character where it doesn't belong.

Take a look at the gateway iformation and see i f you can ping it.

It might be easier if you are new to run set_parms and redo the networking. You will need assigned IP adresses for your cards, not to have two NICs on the same network and subnet, and get a gateway address that actually provides Internet Accesss.

If you tell me about your environment i can help more. Perhaps though you are in a home environment and I can work through standard router information and get your box on the net. It might be fun.

Let me know.
