Can't log off VUE Desktop
I'm having some issues with my hp9000 running ver 10.20 with VUE. The VUE was running fine until the server had to be rebooted one day and now it won't let me start most applications after I have logged in. For example: When I click on the file manager icon it will appear to be loading and then does nothing. The same applies to logging out of the VUE, loading VUE text editor, and opening any toolboxes. However, some work fine like the mail icon and the print manager.
Would switching over to the CDE gui help resolve things? If so, how well does the VUE-to-CDE migration tool work to transfer everything over from vue? This server is currently setup as a Chemserver and runs Target processing for end users connecting with Reflection X.

Re: Can't log off VUE Desktop
a) sounds suspiciously like this could be a BMS problem .... broadcast messaging system ... CDE's equivalent is tooltalk.
any errors ? check /var.vue/Xerrors, $HOME/.vue/errorlogs , syslog.log and rc.log and also run /usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_vue
b) Haven't changed the hostname have you ?
c) A re-install of vue may resolve as definitely would installing CDE (nb VUE not supported on 11.00 and 10.20 has a shelf life of only a couple of years now.

Re: Can't log off VUE Desktop
Hi Nate,
it looks to me, like server did manage your ws, regarding fonts, as a font server, or something similar to this.
Try to remember, what has changed in your settings. You should re-set them. Anything in .vuewmrc file?
ReflectionX could not damage the ux server. But it might misbehave on the client side.
Open VUE on the server, and you'll be surprised, there is no problem. :-) Really!
Did you try Exceed? I'm very satisfyed.
Hope this helps,
Ajdin
