can u explain the function of "hostgroup" in xp128

in my eye, hostgroup could be regarded as a virtual port of a physical storage port, such as port A; say we have 2 hostgroup, one is hostgroup_HP, and the other is hostgroup_IBM,this way HP host and IBM host COULD share ONE physical storage port.
right???

Hi,

Contains LUs that can only be accessed by hosts within the group. Multiple host groups can exists on a single port and each uses a single host mode.
