Cancel print jobs in lp spooler

Hi,

When i am trying to cancel print jobs ,I am getting this error:Not cancelled: not owner.

e.g. jobs owner is xxx and i am login through yyy but i am in the same group what user xxx have.

but still i am getting this error.

Can anybody help me in this solution?

You have to be owner or cancel as root or have sudo installed/configured to allow this.

I'm not shure, but it may be possible to do this with 'restricted SAM'.

You can only cancel jobs as owner or root.

You could use sudo for user yyy to be able to cancel any jobs.

If not root or owner , It can be done with only sudo.

The group membership has no effect in determining whether cancel will work. You must be the owner of the print job.

Restricted SAM will definetly work as we have that setup in our environment and it allows non-root users to cancel print jobs of other users.

You have to install HP-UX internet express provided by HP

Let me clarify a bit. Internet Express is a package of open source software which HP puts into software distributor format. Bookmark thi location:

software.hp.com

then search for sudo. You'll see the two packages for 11.11 and 11.23 (also known as 11iv1 and 11iv2). Select the 11iv1 version, and when you click on download, you can select sudo from all the choices.
