Cannot Create depot

I am trying to create a new depot using swinstall in hp ux 11 , it comes back with message saying cannot create depot , you are not authorized , I have all the permissions in acl,what could be the problem ?

Hi,

Have your HP-UX host a resolvable name (DNS, host file, etc)?

You use swpackage/swcopy to create depots. swinstall is used to install a product.

Mukund,

If you already have the files copied in the directory in the swinstall format, then all you have to do is to register as a depot using 'swreg'

You should be root.

The correct utility to create a new depot is swcopy, not swinstall.
