Re: cannot install hpux os from CD on hpux server link to dummy terminal
Hi,
Which media are you installing from? It should be HPUx (Install and core OS).
Also instead of sea try "sea IPL" at boot ptompt. It could be due to bad CD/DVD ROM as well.
What is the OS version and hardware?
HTH,
Devender

Re: cannot install hpux os from CD on hpux server link to dummy terminal
First see the chasis log and alert log from console .This will clear the attaention status .Now if possible request you to do a full poower recycle , disconnect i/p power of the server and power it on again.
Now interrupt the autoboot process execute sea command find out the path for cd rom
you can boot by
bo p0 --auuming p0 is for cdrom .
If still it does not boot check your media and then the CD/DVD drive and proceed.
thx,
BL.
