Cannot install IVM 4
http://docs.hp.com/en/T2767-90179/T2767-90179.pdf
We are trying to evaluate IVM (Integrity Virtual Machines)
The document says:
1. Install VMKernelSW from DVD #1.
#swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s DVD #1 VMKernelSW
2. Install T2767BC from DVD #2.
#swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s DVD #2 T2767BC
I put the DVD1 (Foundation) and ran mount the DVD on /cdrom then
swinstall -x autoreboot=false -s /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 VMKernelSW and I get a
* Session started for user "root@test".
* Beginning Selection
* Target connection succeeded for "test:/".
* "test:/cdrom/": Cannot open the logfile on this target or
source. Possibly the media is read-only or there is a
permission problem. Check the daemon logfile and
"/var/tmp/swagent.log" on this host for more information.
ERROR: Could not apply the software selection "VMKernelSW"; it is not
available from depot or root "test:/cdrom/".
* Software selection failed for "test:/cdrom/".
ERROR: No software has been selected.
ERROR: Cannot continue the "swinstall" task.
* Selection had errors.
======= Mié, 27 May 2009 10:12:36 SAT END swinstall SESSION
(non-interactive) (jobid=test-0130)
Help on this matter will be truly appreciated, I need to know how to install IVM4 on a 11v3 box.

Re: Cannot install IVM 4
replace the /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 in your swinstall command with /cdrom:
# swinstall -x autoreboot=false -s /cdrom VMKernelSW

Re: Cannot install IVM 4
#swlist [-l product] -s /cdrom VMKernelSW
and try the other media.

Re: Cannot install IVM 4
You can try :
1) swinstall -s /cdrom
and then select the required softwares.
2) If not available, you may have to get the right DVD.
but note - IVM 4 works on sept 2009 11.31 OE onwards.

Re: Cannot install IVM 4
you can download IVM 4.1 here:
http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=integrity_vm41
keep in mind that this is only a TRIAL version.
Hope it helps,
