cannot mount on HPUX an nfs server running on WIN2000

I run an nfs server on a win2000 machine and try to mount a win/folder to my HPUX 10.00 using the

mount WINIPaddress:/ppp /ppp/c

but nothing happens

Do I have to install Samba on HP?

Any help?

Samba is an altnernative to mount windows share.

You can also check the export filesystems from your windows server with

showmount -e WINIPaddress

Shalom George,

It certainly would be eaiser to install Samba on HP-UX. http://software.hp.com search for CIFS/9000

However the CIFS client uses NFS client so you may be right back where you started. NFS server on Windows 2000 had when it worked at all serious problems requiring patches. See that the server system is up to date on security and NFS patches.

This may be impossible for 10.00(?) and may no longer be listed for 11.00.
