Cannot pfs_umount anymore therefore cannot EJECT!!

Hi !
We had a cd pfsmounted and somebody tried the command (umount) instead of psf_umount. Now, we cannot pfs_umount and therefore cannot eject the CD_Rom.

We did try pfs_mounting and pfs_umounting but still, no problem.

The only other thing to do is to reboot but I don't want to do that. Have you ever heard of this happening?

fuser -cuk /cdrom

That should kill all processeson the cdrom.

Next time try the script I'm attaching. It negates the need for pfs_mount

Re: Cannot pfs_umount anymore therefore cannot EJECT!!

This happened to me several times. I was never able to determine anything other than reboot.
I even tried killing the pfs processes but that did not help. I must admit I am not very patient when it comes to computers. It may well be that given 10 minutes killing the process may have fixed it. The computer this happened to is only used by me so reboot is not an issue.

Sorry I was not much help,

Hi,

You probably might have tried all the options including killing the processes.

Reboot is only the option. This isn't a strange incident to me either.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try

Re: Cannot pfs_umount anymore therefore cannot EJECT!!

Apparently, we cannot even manually Eject the CD. I don't understand why but could you tell me if the CD ROM is mounted, shouldn't you still be able to manually eject with a paper clip ???

Thanks
