cannot use more than 4 logical devices
Hi ,
Oracle + Rman , it sucessfult backup using 4 logical devices concurency but when backup with 5 devices , I got error
Recovery Manager complete.

Backup of Oracle8 database finished with error.
1. Check OmniBack II errors and follow OmniBack II
troubleshooting procedure.
2. Check Oracle8 RMAN errors.
How to troubleshoot or any limitation ?

Hi,
if you are using OmniBack, I believe that the number of concurrent tape drives is limited in your license.

All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Hello,
I do not think, the concurrency is limited by license. Do you have a little bit more of error messages. I had a similar problem, when I had kernel parameters low for shared memory (this was on Linux).
May be you need to assign more shared memory. Check your shm.... Kernel parameters.
