cannot use more than 4 logical devices

Hi ,

Oracle + Rman , it sucessfult backup using 4 logical devices concurency but when backup with 5 devices , I got error

Recovery Manager complete.
[Major] From: ob2rman.exe@cthsfr01 "sfrdw" Time: 04/23/01 15:45:11
Backup of Oracle8 database finished with error.
1. Check OmniBack II errors and follow OmniBack II
troubleshooting procedure.
2. Check Oracle8 RMAN errors.

How to troubleshoot or any limitation ?

Thanks in advance,

Re: cannot use more than 4 logical devices

Hi,
if you are using OmniBack, I believe that the number of concurrent tape drives is limited in your license.

regards,
Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Re: cannot use more than 4 logical devices

Hello,
I do not think, the concurrency is limited by license. Do you have a little bit more of error messages. I had a similar problem, when I had kernel parameters low for shared memory (this was on Linux).
May be you need to assign more shared memory. Check your shm.... Kernel parameters.
Hope this helps
