--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I execute cifsumount on a share i had mounted and it says it's no longer mounted.
I am able to stop and start the cifsclient with no errors, but when I do a bdf or cd to the old mount point I get NFS rpc errors
/dev/symm01/ora_tmp
5144576 130323 4701546 3% /tmp/ora
NFS getattr failed for server nastest: RPC: Timed out
NFS access failed for server nastest: RPC: Timed out
NFS fsstat failed for server nastest: RPC: Timed out
bdf: /cvdtech: Connection timed out
It still shows in mnntab.
How can i get rid of this?

Re: cant unmount cifs
I'm afraid you only have one solution reboot.
Good luck,

Re: cant unmount cifs
I posted to HP support, and got:
" it appears that they may have become what we call "stale" and to remove them you
can try to go into the directory of /opt/cifsclient/bin/cifsclient force_umount
/nameofmountpoint "
Stopping client, then running this worked for me. Points to HP !
So, I kept my shirt. ( good thing, they can still chew on the tail, instead of my...)
