Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

Is there anything that is exporting the cd-rom ?

check with

exportfs

did you use pfs_mount?

check with ps -ef| grep ps

Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

does the cdrom show up in bdf?

You could try running a fuser on it to see what process is using it,

Or just try to see if you can unmount and ejecting it, even if it doesnt show up in bdf.

Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

fuser -cu /cdrom

If you see a process and can't kill it

fuser -cuk /cdrom

That will probably log you off, since most likely you have a process open on the cd.

Now you might be able to move on, otherwise, reboot and try again.

Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

SEP's got it (almost) right:

# fuser -cu /mnt
# fuser -cuk /mnt
# fuser -cu /dev/dsk/c0t0d0

Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

Hello!

Also try diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
and see if you get information.
It could be also hardware problem that you
need to clean the CDROM or replace it.

Re: CD-ROM Mounting Problem

1. Try finding whether any other process is using the device by giving a ps -ef. If so, kill the process.

2. Try whether the /dev/dsk/c0t0d0 is accessible. (diskinfo)

3. Try unmounting the same .

4. If nothing works, I will go for a reboot :( though it is not a clean solution
