CD-RW?

What are the sw options for burning CD-RWs (HPUX 11.0 and 11i)? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: CD-RW?

There is nothing in HP-UX to support CDROM recording. Recent workstations have added cdrecord and mkisofs which (after reading the man pages in detail) can produce simple data CDs. The package can be downloaded from http://www.fokus.gmd.de/research/cc/glone/employees/joerg.schilling/private/cdrecord.html

Nero and CD Creator this is not...

Re: CD-RW?

About a month or so ago I started a thread on this topic. You might check that out. I have a C3600 workstation running hp-ux 11i, and it had a read-only hp cd drive.

Following the recommendations from the earlier thread, I replaced the cd drive with an hp 420i dvd writer and installed the old version of X-CD-Roast that is on the hp application cds.

I only have done a few simple checks on the installation but I can read cds and write to a cd-r. I haven't tried writing to a cd-rw but I would expect it to work.

When I upgrade to the latest version of X-CD-Roast, I expect to be able to write to a dvd.

The hp 420i costs about $130 from hpshopping.com.
