Re: CDE(don't excute)
# /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc stop
# /sbin.init.d/dtlogin.rc start
Check the processes are running.
# ps -ef | grep dt
root 1312 1293 0 Sep 1 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin
root 1293 1 0 Sep 1 ? 0:00 /sbin/sh /usr/dt/bin/dtrc
root 29238 28780 0 14:58:02 pts/td 0:00 grep dt
If they are running, then one would assume that your PC X based software is not configured properly. What X based software are you attempting to use?

Re: CDE(don't excute)
You might like to try:
XDMCP-query - Make sure that you have the IP address correct.
Make sure that you have the display number correct '0'
Make sure that you don't have any restrictions for connections to your system.

Re: CDE(don't excute)
have a look at this FAQ on the netsarang web page: http://www.netsarang.com/bbs/viewfaq.html?id=faq&seqnum=1&thread=Z&page=1&total=14
Try the font server.
Also check on your HP-UX server the lookup for your pc-name (forward an reverse). If necessary add your pc name and ip to the /etc/hosts file.
