CDE environment over reboot

I'm running a 785/C3600 W/s on 11.0 that is fairly well patched up to date. I have set up CDE environment several times till I get it like I want, 6 work spaces, named as I want them, back drops picked, apps that start on login, etc, but when the system is rebooted, I loose every thing and go back to an initial desktop. If I logout and logback in with out reboot, everything still works. Any body have any ideas?

Robert,

In the Style Manager, under Startup, rather than "resume current session on logout", select "return to home session" and click on the "set home session" button to store your current settings.

It should work either way but I've consistently had difficulties with the resume settings.

Re: CDE environment over reboot

Hi,

When you're logged into CDE and have your desktop setup as you desire... go to the 'style manager', click 'startup' then click 'set home session' -> 'Ok'.

Now when you exit and log back in, your changes will be there.

Thanks, both of you. Knew it was something stupid that I could not remember to save my life.

Re: CDE environment over reboot

Not stupid at all Robert. Like I said, I've seen cases where "resume current settings" will work just fine for months on end and then all of a sudden, it forgets the settings. That's why I prefer to set a home session.
