CDE is not coming in reflectionx

i am trying to access remote HP-UX machine through reflectionx. Background is coming, but no CDE is coming in reflection window, there is an hour glass showing for long time. I want to access CDE as part of my work.

This is probably due to permissions on the home directory.

Make sure the user owns or can write to his home directory, as indicated in /etc/passwd

This could also be due to network bottlnecks, but you wouldn't be complaining about CDE if that were a large problem. Still, it might be a good idea to run landadmin -x # (replace # with a numer as in the 1 in lan1) and make sure duplex and connection speed are correct.

You also need to install reflection on the user desktop as administrative user. The actual user of the pc may need write access to certain registry keys for the app to function properly.

You can run the /usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt executable to have the CDE config checked. Will alert you you warnings and/or errors.

I ran into this on a hp-ux 11.00 system of mine and remeber I found some errors in a dt log file, but I'm not sure I solved it - I'll check it tonight.

I have seen this problem before but only from behind a firewall. The remote HPUX box isn't behind a firewall or filtering router is it? I ended up using VNC on the HPUX box and Vncviewer on the local box.

radhakrishna, I couldn't try it tonight, it seems my XTerm is somehow misconfigured.

But I need to fix it anyway, so I'll keep trying on Sunday.

Can u please check back and letme know. Can u pls tell me the default xterm configuration, can i get default xterm configurations by doing HP-UX operating system recovery without disturbing other OS components. Pls reply ASAP
