CDE Session
I am running HummingBird Exceed 6.1 session. Now presently I am using the xterm session. I have contacted to Exceed tech-support about the CDE environment thru Windows9x. They said me to start these daemons:
Xsession
Xdm
dtm
dtsession
I am not sure of those daemons and even how to start on the UNIX box. I have contacted my SA; but I think they too don't know about these daemons.
Will anyone help me out.
Thanks

Re: CDE Session
OK on the hp-ux side you will need the following installed : CDE runtime enviroment : check with swlist if unsure.
Once this is installed, check for the following process : dtlogin, if its running that's more or less it : its started via /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc which is part of the above install and by default is started at run-level 3.
The rest of the config is on the Exceed PC side but occasionally a font server may need to be setup if connections to the hp-ux box fail due to font errors ... check exceeds log file or contact there support people.
NB xfs is the hp-ux font server process : details on how to set this up can be found using the search facility top left : "xfs CDE fonts" as your search string should get the goods ..... good luck
