CDE window is not coming after installing Hp11i on C-3600

HI,

I INSTALLED HP-UX 11i (COLD INSTALLATION). AFTER FIRST BOOTING ITS NOT GIVING CDE LOGIN. BUT GARY DISPLY COMING AFTER THIS FOLLOWING MESSAGE COMING...

INIT:Command is respawning too rapidly.
Will try again in 5 minutes.
Check for possible errors.
id:samd "/usr/sam/lbin/samd # system mgmt daemon.

after i moved the folder /etc/dt to dt.old i couldn't find find the .dt folder for root user.

Help me ...

any errors in /etc/rc.log?
'Start CDE' is the last message in this file.

You can edit your /etc/inittab (quickly) to comment out the line that respawns samd. That should give you some time to isolate the problem. I'm sure that this happened to me before, but I don't remember the exact details. It might have been a patch or name server resolution or other networking configuration issues. Try nslookup on you hostname to see if it will resolve. Also, are running 11.11 or 11.23?

when I loaded 11i on a K-Box. The problem will go away if you load the latest GOLDPAK problem too, but it went away when I installed the latest GOLDQPKs from the Support Plus CD.
