Re: change disks

If you are asking only how to change a vgname then one of two options.

1) delete vg01 and create vg02

2) deactivate vg01, vgexport with map option
2a) create /dev/vg02 directory
2b) mknod /dev/vg02/group c 64 0x0X0000
2c) vgimport -m mapfile /dev/vg02 /dev/dsk/cxtxdx /dev/dsk/cxtxdx...
2d) vgchange -a y /dev/vg02
2e) edit /etc/fstab
2f) mount filesystems

Re: change disks

Shalom,

I'm not sure what you mean.

I'll try anyway.

1) Back up any data because what comes next is risky.
2) vgchange -a n vg01
3) vxexport the volume group
4) vgimport these disks in into the new volume group.

Do note you want nothing mounted nor any open server process in the volume group.
