Here is what I want to do:
I need the time change in September to be preformed at 2 o'clock to 3 o'clock (instead of 3 o'clock - 4 o'clock) and for April the time change has to be preformed at 2 o'clock to 1 o'clock.
Here is the out from /usr/lib/tztab:
#Namibian Time Zone
WAT-1WAST
0 2 1-7 4 1970-2038 0 WAT-1
0 2 1-7 9 1970-2038 0 WAST-2
Here is the output from dst.pl
Sun Apr 06 02:59:59 WAST 2008 --> Sun Apr 06 02:00:00 WAT 2008
Sun Sep 07 00:59:59 WAT 2008 --> Sun Sep 07 02:00:00 WAST 2008
Any Ideas???

Re: Change tztab file
Yes, you can edit this file through vi, but be very careful. Also alter the /etc/TIMEZONE file to point to the new settings: i.e WAST-2 in my case.
Secondly, if you are using ntp, just restart the xnptd deamon for the changes to take place.
Regards

Re: Change tztab file
Right, you will no longer be able install tztab patches if you customize this file.

This demon has no business looking at tztab, it works in UTC.
