changed hostname hpux 11.31 now oracle db wont start

Change hostname of server using set_parms hostname

Now database will not start.

tnsnames.ora & listener.ora files contains IP. And IP stayed the same.

From what I understood, it may be with the host name. But I have tried everything...

There is only one entry in the hosts file:

10.45.77.76 jactrng

SQL> startup

I suspect it is not correctly resolving the host name to the IP address.  Do you use DNS?  If so, did you change the host name in  your DNS server as well?  If not, you may need to.
