Changing Duplex Mode of LAN card..
Hi.. I'm trying to change the duplex mode of a lan card, using the lanadmin -X command.
When I run lanscan, I get the following output..
Hardware Station Crd Hdw Net-Interface NM MAC HP-DLPI DLPI
Path Address In# State NamePPA ID Type Support Mjr#
4/0/0/1/0 0x00306E38A011 0 UP lan0 snap0 1 ETHER Yes 119

4/0/9/0/0 0x00306E395329 10 UP lan10 snap10 8 ETHER Yes 119
I then do a lanadmin -x 1
and get the following output..
lanadmin -x 1
Current Config = 100 Half-Duplex AUTONEG
When I run the following command
lanadmin -X 1 100FD
I get the following output..
lanadmin -X 1 100FD
Invalid PPA Number entry
I can't use SAM, since I don't want to assign IP addresses to these cards (The application I'm using required only the MAC addresses of these cards)
Is there another way to use lanadmin, or a file that I can change the speed to 100 Full-Duplex..
Thx

Re: Changing Duplex Mode of LAN card..
Hi,
In the lanadmin command PPA # comes last.
Try
lanadmin -X 100FD 1
This can also be set in the /etc/rc.config.d/????conf file for the driver type the card uses.
HTH,
Jeff

Re: Changing Duplex Mode of LAN card..
You should hardcode your desired duplex setting in a file called /etc/rc.config.d/hpbtlanconf
I'm attaching mine as an example.
After a boot, assuming your switch is correct you should be fine. On your network switch settings for 100 BT cards must be explicit. No auto-negotitate.
Good Luck,
SEP
