changing from vue to cde.

We will be upgrading from hp-ux 10.20 to hp-ux 11.0. We are currently using vue. We need to cofigure cde and remove the vue configuration. How is this done? We are on an hp9000 K 460.

Re: changing from vue to cde.

CDE is default with hpux 11 so when you install it you should find that it goes directly to CDE.

Try doing a fresh install as this will save you a lot of problems later just backup any data you have and restore it.

I dont even think VUE is supported in HPUX 11 there is a product called VUEtoCDE its provided on the HP-UX release media at
HP-UX 10.10, 10.20, 10.30, and 11.0. It is used to convert your VUE
environment to CDE.See document IDs UNX1030247 and UNX1030263

Re: changing from vue to cde.

I am unable to find document IDs UNX1030247 and
UNX1030263 on this site, though I see reference to them
in other white papers. Are they still available? If so, where?

Re: changing from vue to cde.

Hi again,

I checked the link and it's only giving the Technical Knowledge Base Homepage.

Fill-in the DOc.id. and it should find it.

Re: changing from vue to cde.

The links you provided are to the European site, and I cannot login there. When I search the Technical Knowlege Database at the US site, the 2 technical documents I am requesting are not listed. Instead there are a few other documents that make reference to them. I would like to review these documents prior to making this change but cannot seem to obtain them anywhere on the US site. Can you help?
