Changing NIS+ slave to master
Hi,
I have NIS+ setup on L2000 HPUX 11.0 machines. One of the server is configured as the master and the other one as slave ( replica ) I have some dobuts which I am jotting it down here. Pl. clarify
1. If the master goes down , does the slave act as a master?
2. During this period, does the slave accept any updations on the NIS+ database ( ex:- password change)
I am aware that the updation on the slave replica does update the master replica as well.. Just want to confirm
3. Once the master comes up, does it automatically become master and takes the updations from the slave?
I am asking these questions as I have this problem in my setup.
By mistake, the users have changed the password on the replica machine and this is not reflected on the master server. How do I sync this password information from the slave to the master?
I have posted this query in the system administration section , but have not received any replies.
Thanks
Jerome
