Changing the character set of OS
Hi,
I am not able to view any arabic character in my OS ( HP UX). What ocnfiguratio change should I have to undertake so as to view both english and Arabic characters.

Check the following:
locale -a
Read up n locale, and lang
man locale
DESCRIPTION
The locale command displays information about the current locale or
about available locales.
/usr/lib/nls/loc/locales
man lang
HP-UX NLS (Native Language Support) provides support for the
processing and customs requirements of a variety of languages.
Hopefully, these will lead you to what you're looking for.

Hi,
Apart from setting your LANG you need to have a font server which actually shows you the Arabic characters. If you do not have the font server then even when the LANG is set you will not see any of the Arabic chars. I do not have the font server so I see the following:
$ export LANG=ar_DZ.arabic8
$ date
10:43:29 2004 à à à åà à 13 à äà à æ
