Hi All,
I'm about to do a 32-bit to 64-bit upgrade on HPUX 11.00.
I'm told that if I have any EISA devices that these will not be compatable with 64-bit.
Is there a command that you can run to check whether you have any of these?
Also has anyone performed this upgrade before and have a procedure for it, I have one from the itrc but have tried a couple of times and it has failed at the make kernel. I have now updated the PDC firmware though and am about to try again.
Thanks for any help.
Colin.

SolutionThe following ioscan shows eisa devices in use. You can see an example below. If this command returns blank then you have no eisa devices in use.
ioscan -fk | grep -i eisa
ba 2 20/5 eisa CLAIMED BUS_NEXUS EISA Bus Adapter
tty 2 20/5/1 eisa_mux0 CLAIMED INTERFACE EISA card HWP1520
ext_bus 2 20/5/3 c720 CLAIMED INTERFACE EISA card HWP0C80
Weve tried a few 32 to 64 bit upgrades, all failed. We gave up and now install from 64bit instead of upgrading. Perhaps HP have now sorted this out and the upgrade is more reliable ? Good luck.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...
