Choice error
I have a A440 host running with Hpux 11.00.
Today after switching on the server, rather than going to the normal booting procedure it is giving some errors and a Choice at the console.
There are choices like Ack, Cancel View and exit.
If we press A or it will give the similar type of errror again.
at GSP i could notice specifically some atmospheric related errors.
At what all conditions the server will give Choice error?
What can be the issue?

Re: Choice error
Hi Raneesh,
It's GSP that is giving you those choices and it can be a headache sometimes when you really want to see the console messages. (Ofcourse, you can access them using sl command later). You can disable this behaviour using 'Ac' command in the GSP. With this you won't really lose any logs. They will still be logged and you can view them using 'sl' command. But it will enable you to view the system related messages scrolling on the console.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try

Re: Choice error
Go onto the GSP and do sl. check the chasis logs. There could be a major error hardware/software that is causing the problem.

Re: Choice error
Thanks Anil&Sri,
but I couldn't see an option 'Ac' in GSP.
