CIFS-9000 Client login error
I just installed CIFS-9000 on a 11.0 box and when I try to cifslogin to the mounted server I get the following message:
Logging in User: UNIX: Host is down
I turned on debug in the cifscleint.cfg, tried it again and noticed the following comment in the client-log file:
pslsocket: connect: destination "snap1" does not exist
I am confused. If snap1 isn?t seen, why would the mount succeed in the first place. I have tried mounting and logging into an NT 4.0 box, a Win2k box and a Quantum SnapServer 4100 all with the same results. I suspect the 9000 configuration but have not found anything that affects change. This worked in the office from 9000 to 9000. Can someone please help me?
Thanks very much,
TR.a

Re: CIFS-9000 Client login error
Turns out the host in the cifslogin must be in the hosts file (or name server).
