CIFS/9000 Client Timeout
We are running a cifs/9000 client on HP-UX 11.0 mounting a share on an NT 4.0 server. We sporadically get the following message:
NFS lookup failed for server s001npkw02: RPC: Timed out
Could this problem be solved by increasing any of the Timeout values in the cifsclient.cfg file? If so which of the 4 Timeout values would be the best place to start?

Re: CIFS/9000 Client Timeout
Hi..
Did you ever get this fixed?
We're experiencing the same problems specially with a WAN link (T1). Sometimes the only fix for unresponding mounts was to stop cifsclient .. force umount on others that would not dismount cleanly and start CIFS..
Are there issues with CIFS Client over WANs.. Is CIFS/9000 Client "officially" supported by HP?

Re: CIFS/9000 Client Timeout
Hi Nelson,
It's better to create a fresh thread for your question, as the original question had no replies and was written in 2001, plus you won't be able to assign points to this thread as you don't own it - thus other people looking at it won't be able to judge how helpful the advice given has been.
In answer to your last question, CIFS/9000 client is supported by HP, and is indeed an HP product.
regards,
Darren.

Calm down. It's only ones and zeros...
