cifs and winbindd on 11i
I'm trying to set up a sambaserver on hp-ux 11i on a A500 64-bit server.
The samba version is 2.2.8a, compiled with winbindd (install as a depot).
When I start winbindd I get the following error:
Could not open a connection to MYDOMAIN for \PIPE\lsarpc (NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER_NOT_FOUND)
I have successfully set it up and run on another network and another domain, but when I moved the server to this network and this DOMAIN, it dosen't work. The samba server is on the same network as the PDC, hence no firewall problems.
wbinfo -[ugpt] gives this:
# wbinfo -u
Error looking up domain users
# wbinfo -g
Error looking up domain groups
# wbinfo -t
Could not check secret
# wbinfo -p
'ping' to winbindd failed
could not ping winbindd!
I have used smbpasswd -j mydomain -r mypdc -U administrator. And in the smb.conf I have:
security = domain
winbind uid = 10000-25000
winbind gid = 10000-25000
winbind separator = +
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
encrypt passwords = yes
Does anyone knows what could be the problem?

Re: cifs and winbindd on 11i
What about password server?
What do you have that set to in smb.conf?
I believe for winbind, it has to be the netbios name - not ip address...
