CIFS is not listing all the files in a directory

I have a K580 running hpux 11.0 CIFS/9000 client connecting to a Dell PowerVault 740 CIFS share. I can connect/mount/read and write files, but when I change to the mounted directory and type ls, I only get 62 entries returned ll |wc -l. If I access the share with windows I see the entire 30,000 file contents. ftp and rcp will copy all 30,000 files into the directory.
