CIFS not seeing files on share
I saw a similar thread from Oct 2004 - but it was not clear if updating CIFS version resolved the problem or not. I will restate the issue:
I have a CIFS mount of a network share. In some cases, a windows process creates a new file in the share - and it is not "seen" from the UNIX side - that is, ls does not show it. When this is the case, if a windows user "looks" at the directory - e.g. with Explorer - then UNIX can see the file fine. It seems like the UNIX reading of the Windows "index of files" if you will is not refreshing/getting current copy until the windows user does something else.
is it possible that this is a windows or share issue - as i have 4 or 5 shares mounted and this is only happening on one of them, in one subdirectory? Has any one seen this before or does anyone have a resolution?
