I'm trying to install CIFS server on my 11i box, but it requires LDAP to be installed. Currently we don't use LDAP, so there is no LDAP libraries on the machine. Is there an way to install and run CIFS server without LDAP? I installed CIFS anyway, but ofcourse it fails to start because libldap.sl is not present.
thanx.

Solutionhaving scanned through
http://docs.hp.com/en/5523/wp-SettingUpSambainanLDAPEnvironment.pdf
seems to me you have to have the LDAP libs installed to run the server with LDAP support.
Please let us know if somebody else finds a way around!!
Regards

Re: CIFS Sever and LDAP support
All you need to do to get CIFS to install is to install the LDAP/UX client.
You don't actually have to use it.
