cifs
Hi Guys, okay so i have successfully mounted the users on cifs, but they still cant do what the need to do onit...
I see one thing though that whenever each user goes into the directory they have a different owner and group.. Like for every user owner is different and group as well..... is that what what the problem i , should i change all the groups and users for all the users to one root root...
What else can be the reason of this not working...
Thanks

Re: cifs
Shalom,
This is a matter of setting permissions properly.
If these are windows users, you might want to consider doing ADS integration and let windows do the heavy lifting.
No, files should not be root permission/ownership. That is an exploit waiting to happen.
Perhaps create a group, add all the users to it and give group write permissions to the directory and the files.
