CIFS9000 - Ldap
Hi gurus,
I read many configuration documents but too many things are not yet clear to me.
1) May I use CIFS9000 box as Primary Domain Controller? I Mean, can I define a new domain with a CIFS9000 machine?
2) Is it possible to use Ldap server as user repository?
Thanks

Re: CIFS9000 - Ldap
Shalom Saguro,
The answer to both questions is yes.

LDAP
http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch31_:_Centralized_Logins_Using_LDAP_and_RADIUS
Note the above document is Linux however I think it will work just fine with HP-UX.

Re: CIFS9000 - Ldap
Hi Saguro,
Yes, sometimes it may not be well written but there is also a lot of documentation available (online) for HP CIFS Server (formerly known as CIFS9000).
The software depot page has many links that should be helpful in leading you to the areas you are interested in. http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8725AA
HP CIFS provides an administrator's guide with chapters on how to configure CIFS as a PDC, http://docs.hp.com/en/B8725-90101/ch04s02.html,
and how to configure LDAP, http://docs.hp.com/en/B8725-90101/ch06.html.
Best of Luck,
Dave
