CIFS9000/Samba 2.0.6
I'm working on implementing CIFS between a NT4.0 domain and my L series server running 11.00. Problem: I've created a share that I consistently gets errors when I attach from the windows side (network neighborhood) saying "\\machine name\share name is not accessible. The network name cannot be found." Note: this only happens when I have a share name with 2 or more words; it works fine with one word names.
When utilizing a linux workaround (samba 2.0.7) between another HP server (10.23), my linux box, and the NT domain I don't get this error, whether with 1 or more words in the share name.
I'm inclined to think this is a problem with CIFS from my NT domain back to my server, but I'm not certain...has anyone discovered how to deal with spaces, underscores, or dashes in share names when creating a NT-to-HPUX 11 share?
Thanks for your time,

Re: CIFS9000/Samba 2.0.6
Hi Joe,
I have a similiar setup ( HP-UX 11 32bit, CIFS9000/Samba 2.0.6 ) and I just tried adding a share with two words ( separated by a blank space ) and I have no problems. Just a few things that you could check probably -
1. How did you add the share? Through the SWAT? Did you restart SMBD and NMBD?
2. What version of Win NT and Service Pack are you using? ( I have a Win NT4 with SP6a )
3. If you create a share with two words on another Win NT machine and mount it on this Win NT machine with the problem, will it work?
4. From your Win NT machine, could you resolve the hostname/IP of the L class server?
Hope these helps.
