cifsclient and mounting subdirs

In the windows world if a have a share on "pluto" called "george", and a subdirectory exists in "george" called "fred", I can map //pluto/george/fred to a drive letter. This funtionality doesn't seem to exist in the cifsclient. It looks to me like I can only mount pluto:/george and not pluto:/george/fred Is this true or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: cifsclient and mounting subdirs

Hi Mike,

I just did a quick test and this appears to be the case. If you have a support contract with HP you may wish to log a service request for this functionality to be added. This doesn't guarantee that it will be added, but it will highlight the issue to lab level, where it can be discussed.

Out of interest mapping a subdir from a CIFS server to a Windows box does work, so the equivalent functionality is present in the server s/w.

regards,

Darren.
