cifsclient problem

/opt/cifsclient/bin/cifslogin server user1 would get the below message:
logging in user: unix : broken type or
logging in user: unix : host is down,

Does anyone has the experience about this probelm?
Notes: CIFSCLIENT 1.09 / Windows 2000+SP4
