cifsmount

I'm trying to utilize a share off an NT machine with cifsmount. I can mount the thing logged in as root, but the regular users can't get to it. The permissions on the files and directories look O.K. And I've even tried fiddling with the guest user parameter within cifsclient.conf with no discernable results.

I'd like to be able to use cifsmount in the same way that an nfs mount can be used, that is shared by all the users. Is this not possible?

Re: cifsmount

Don,

Before you cifsmount it, ensure that the directory your going to mount it on has the correct permissions.

So, if you mount it to /NT ensure /NT has 777 permissions (or whatever you require) before it's mounted. It's too late once it's mounted.

Re: cifsmount

I have the same problem.
Befor mounting the NT-Share as root I set permissions to 777 and chgrp to users, but when I try to get access as a normal user I receive permission denied. I noticed the cifemount has change the group permissions back to sys !!! why ???
