Clearing ARP Cache


Is there a command to clear the arp cache on hp-ux 11.x ??

I don't think so. You can delete selctive entrieds with arp -d.
man arp for details.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK

Basically Im changing the route of one of my machines and I want it to use the new route instantly so Id like to clear the routing table..

In that case, you really do not need to do anything. are you changing specific route or default route on machine.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK

No not the default route...

So the server should use the new route as soon as I issue the "route add" command ??

What utility can I use to ensure it is using the correct route ??

Once the route has been established (assumming that the network card and switch are all working correctly), you can use traceroute to follow the hops to a remote host on the new subnet.
