client won't connect up with server

Hi, all. Second problem I have here, might be related to the other post. Anyway...

I have a RAID drive on the server with two filesystems, /home and /download. I went and updated the patches on the server. When I rebooted, it didn't mount /home, so I ran fsck and mounted it myself. I went to the client (my workstation) and it closed the window that I had open that I used to install the patches (telnet to server). I ran bdf, and it said that /home was a stale NFS server. however, /download was fine. I could not get it back up, so I rebooted the client. Now, /download is still fine, but /home gives me an access denied. I can only see /home if I telnet to the server. Why is /home not responding, and how can I get it to play nice again? (I'd reboot the server, but it won't mount home itself, thus the problem. Grrrrr.) Thanks!

Re: client won't connect up with server

Hi Mark,

You are really wasting your time with this until you get your local filesystem problems resolved. If you are running the automounter, this tend to make the problem even worse.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: client won't connect up with server

I think I got this one (for now). I went and exported the directory /home to all nodes from the server, and now it gives me access (/usr/sbin/exportfs -i /home). So good for now.
