Clonin on a differnt architecture

I have taken a make_net_recovery of a L CLASS System .Now i plan to restore the same on R class system.All the disk paths,hardware path is differnt , Is that possible ??.I have alredeady replaced the CINDEX and recovery directory from a source client dir to a target client dir.

it should not be possible because architecture are different.

Hi Manu,

You can try setting the "clone to different hardware" option to "true" .

you should select the "additional..." option in the "Basic" tab of itools and set

"cloning to different HW" to "true".

However I should warn you, I have never tried this myself to recover from L-class to D-class. You can try this and if it does not work, take the conventional route.....Fresh install.

If you have a lot of spare time to experiment, go ahead and try it. BUt the issues are too numerous to itemize, everything from missing or extra drivers, missing kernel modules, patches specific to a platform, etc. There are a *LOT* of difference between the R and L class. I would always stay within a platform family and even then, fibre LAN and/or disks, PCI cards, MUXs, etc all may cause problems at the target machine.
