SolutionOnly way on HPUX is to create an ignite image, you can create golden images and do a network install with these.
check out the docs on ignite/ux at
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11i.html#Ignite-UX

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
Collect all your ioscans, boot disks, O/S file system sizes, hostname, ip, gateway, ntp, nis, swap sizes, RAM, etc.
Boot off of a tape.
Interrupt at 10 second prompt. (* don't opt for automatic recovery *)
Advanced installation.
Use tab, enter and arrow keys. Fill in all the data fields. Modify.

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
Your best bet to clone software images across different kinds of hardware is Ignite Golden Images
It is harder, more complex but ultimately produces the best results.
It can even be used to distribute ceritifed and tested software and patch bundles.

The link collection above is pretty complete.
HP Education's Ignite course is wonderful as well.

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
Thanks a lot for your help as always. I had attended 3 courses this year. 2 from IBM and 1 from Oracle. I came to know these organizations takes huge fees but do no give too much importance for training resources. Labs machines were pathetic.
After paying huge fees if we don't get proper training then it is really unfortunate. I was looking out for training in HP's Superdome sys admin but looks like it is not available. I like HPUX because probably it is most stable unix in the world today.
I am ready to pay provided get the training on advanced hardware or machines. But most training institute provide training on low end hardware.
In recent years, it seems things have got changed and quality training on quality labs are hardly available.
Anyway, it appears that HP may be using its own labs and higher end machines for providing training.
Anyone who has attended training from HP's
training center in bay area may like to let us know his thoughts.
Thanks,
Shiv

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
this for example sounds like what you want
http://www.hp.com/education/courses/u5523s.html have a look at the course outline.
Administrators have to understand and handle hardware, for this reason advanced admin courses are discussing a lot of hardware aspects. Have a look at the Education & Training website too http://www.hp.com/education/ or contact HP directly.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
HP takes these trainings from time to time for it's engineers , you can also attend the same . Best way would be to speak to customer engineer from HP , he may then take it up further . Else yo can contact Sales team also they will be able to help you out.

Re: Cloning OS on HPUX Servers
The advanced courses are very worthwhile. Some of the lesser courses provide obvious information. But often you'll come across a chapter of material in the less advanced courses that that you didn't know about and don't see so frequently.
HP will teach you HP related material only. So in networking you are likely to get references to an HP email / sendmail configuration instead of something more avant garde and non-HP.
Unless your company's already bought the product that you're signing up for you won't see it after you leaving the class.
