close on device file hags up on HP-UX 11.i

We are experiencing problem on
close(filedesc)
operation on a device file of a proprietary driver on HP-UX 11.i
The same operation on HP-UX 11.0 platform works while on HP-UX 11.i ( PA-RISC )platform the close () operation hangs after a successful open operation in RDWR mode

I think you need to provide more details.

What is the device driver and device name? What does it do? Who wrote it? Does it hang on any close(), or just under certain conditions? etc.

Is not unheard of to have to re-write a device driver file for a new OS.

Contact the authors for a new driver fow 11.11
