Re: Cluster Configration

Sahil,

I am afraid you have to read up first:

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/ha/index.html#ServiceGuard

If you have any specific questions it is possible to answer.

Re: Cluster Configration

Sahil,

Just to add here that it isn't as difficult as it first looks. Don't worry, just read the doc mentioned above and come back with any specifics :)

Re: Cluster Configration

In particular, read "Managing MC/ServiceGuard"

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B3936-90073/B3936-90073.html

There is a section - "5 Building an HA Cluster Configuration "

Re: Cluster Configration

Sahil,

The OPS Edition of ServiceGuard is required only if using Oracle Parallel Server. If you setup a standard Active/Passive HA cluster where the Oracle instance runs on the primary node and is only started on the secondary node in the event of a fail-over, you do not need the OPS Edition of ServiceGuard. FYI - Implementing Oracle OPS in a clustered environment where multiple Oracle instances are up concurrently and sharing the database volumes non-exclusive greatly increases the complexity and is much more difficult to maintain.
