cluster for hp11

HI all

is diskless clusters concept is not available in HP-ux11.
what is other alternative available.

Hi sanjeev,

Well...not knowing your definition of "diskless cluster", I will say that one can indeed have a cluster that has no VGs assigned to it. In fact one could have as simple a cluster as a one node cluster with no SW pkgs & all it does is failover a NIC(s) for network redundancy. The next step up would be another single-node cluster that does have a SW pkg & all the cluster does is restart the SW if it fails - it does not fail it over to another node. Then you move up to multi-node clusters & such.
SO as I see it one can have a diskless cluster.

If you're trying to boot off of a server from a client then collect all of your MAC addresses and update 'bootptab' and uncomment tftp boot and bootp. Stay within the same subnet and don't boot outside a router.
