cluster lock fails on one node in 3 node cluster

One fibre channel card has failed and we have lost the lock disk link on one node.
We are planning shutting down the one node, replacing the card and re-zoning.
I know that if the path stays the same we should have no issues bringing this node back into the cluster.
What issues would I face if the path changes and we try and bring this node back into the cluster?
Thanks for any responses.

Re: cluster lock fails on one node in 3 node cluster

Shalom Dan,

The path is likely to change.

If so:

Edit the cluster configuration file.

cmquerycl
cmcheckconf
cmapplyconf

No way around it.

I have to ask, why you think the path would change? The card would be going back into the same slot. The only thing that is changing is the WWPN?

Forget my response as I asked what would happen if the path changes. I guess what I was wondering is can this system join the cluster if the lock disk it knows about is not available to it?

Re: cluster lock fails on one node in 3 node cluster

A node can join a cluster even if the path to the cluster lock has changed, or the lock disk has become non-responsive for whatever reason.

The only concern is that the system might need to access the lock VG/disk if there was a heartbeat outage, in which case the node would be TOC'd by Serviceguard because it cannot participate in cluster arbitration.
