Hi, I'm running one package on each of 2 servers in a cluster. If I halt one of the nodes, will it affect the package on the other node? I remember seeing "cluster reforming" on the remaining node during the last reboot. Not sure will that affect the running package.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Solution
Shutting down one node in the cluster will not effect any packages running on that system, just for few seconds you might see system a bit slow thats it..
When ever there is a change in the cluster like a node joining or node leaving the cluster reformation happens but it will not effect the other running nodes in the cluster, the package might swicth over to alternate node if its configured so.

Re: cmhaltnode
I agree with Rajeev in principle.
However, if package failover is enabled and cmhaltnode is performed, it's package would fail to it's adoptive server - the one that remains in the cluster and currently running it's own package.
If the package failover results in severely taxes the remaining node, then yes - the package operation may be affected.
Otherwise, cmhaltnode will not affect packages on other servers in the cluster.

Re: cmhaltnode
No - it will not affect a package currently running on another node.
However, if that node were to fail, then the package would not fail over.
cmhaltnode/cmrunnode is perfectly normal.
